Frequently asked questions
What does forward-looking budgeting mean?
Most budgeting tools report what you already spent. Citrus Budget projects your recurring income and expenses forward, so you can see future balances and fix problems before they happen.
Do I need to connect my bank account?
No. You enter your accounts, income, bills and debts yourself. This keeps the budget about the plan, not about every transaction.
What is the difference between fixed and flexible items?
Fixed items, such as rent, are the same each time. Flexible items, such as groceries, vary, so you give a typical amount and a range. The forecast shows a best and worst case.
What are the stages?
A simple order of priorities using a ship metaphor: plug the leaks, run the ship, chart your destinations, and enjoy abundance. They are similar in spirit to Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps and the Financial Order of Operations.
Can I try it without signing up?
Yes. The demo budget lets you explore with sample data.
Can more than one person use a budget?
Yes. You can invite people to a budget and choose whether they can manage it or only view it.
